A soundtrack type piece. A full composition. A movie opener type thing? Maybe good for something?

Triumphant Return

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Here is a 3 and a half minute classical type piece. Maybe good for someone somewhere for something?
Please let me know what YOU need. I'm always working on something.

Opus One

Another orchestra piece. This reminds me of looking out over a view of the mountains. Something big, you know? Duh-duuuhn!

Grande Vista

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

Here's one done with various Orchestra techniques. It's Film music for a scene with a lot of tension.
I thought of calling it "Running in Heels" because that's what it makes me think of, but didn't want to cramp someone's imagination. It also could be used for a big storm scene where passengers are blowing over the side of the ship and tossed into the raging sea as the captain battles yells things at his crew...

HIGH TENSION

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Here's a new one in the New Age Techno World Music vein. Maybe it could be useful for something. Every time I do something like this I think, "Nobody is EVER going to need something like this...." Then one, day I'll get an e-mail from someone who says....you know that piece you did was perfect for my project! "  So, it goes to show, who am I to know???

Here is a new one about 2:43 in the mid-tempo acoustic guitar section. Another non-descript background track. The next version will have some foreground melody going on to make it, well, more descript!

Here's the first of many longer pieces I hope to be uploading. As promised a longer smooth jazz piece.

Smooth Sailing (Full Track)  5:36

This will go into the Jazz Section. I have enough Jazz pieces now that all the jazz stuff will go in it's own section.
Right now they're bunking with the Rock and the Acoustic stuff. It's time they move out and get their own place.

Friday, October 7, 2011

Here's a smooth jazz tune. I'm going to go back and put some guitar work on this, but this is the bed.

SMOOTH SAILING

Here's a basic Boogie Woogie Bed that's more for background music. Less foreground action going on:

BOOGIE WOOGIE BED

Now when you speed up Boogie Woogie to about 223 bpm, add some passing chords, and some horns
you end up with something like 30's 40's swing music.

BIG SWING BAND

Okay, The "Jason Shaw Trio" is back with this Barrel House Boogie Woogie Romp.  I just finished this 10 minutes ago. Maybe somebody will need something like this someday?

Jumpin' Boogie Woogie

Monday, October 3, 2011

Here's a two for one day!  The first one will go in the Rock/Pop Section under "Off the Charts". This is a retro rock feel similar to the current chart hit by Foster the People called, "Pumped Up Kicks". It's a cool song, you can dance to it. I'd give it a 10.

KICKED UP PUMPS

The second one is my attempt at Bebop Jazz. I'm not really a jazz player but I was fooling around with this progression and slapped some bass on it, along with some looped drums...hey not bad for a first attempt.
Hey, whadaya want fer FREE????  :)

OKEY DOKEY SMOKEY

Sunday, October 2, 2011

I started this at 5am this morning. It's now 12:30 and I haven't moved out of this chair once! It hasn't seemed like 7 hours. They say that's how you know you've found your "bliss"-  when time seems to fly or stand still.

Inner Journey

Saturday, October 1, 2011

A subscriber named Bill wanted some more solo acoustic guitar pieces. Here's the first of many.
I'm also working on some longer pieces to use as music on hold. Yanni anyone?

Contemporary Country

Here's one that reminds me of trains. Or traveling without them.

Dirt Road Traveler

Uptempo Pop Rock with a middle drum solo

Uptempo thing. This started out as something you would hear on the weather channel.
It didn't end up there. Coming up. Longer pieces suitable for answering machine messages plus some contemporary country tracks....ala  Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean etc.

What? Another one???

I don't know how to classify this one. It's got a lot of elements of world music in it, but it grooves. You'll see.

UNITED WE GROOVE

Slow Pensive Minor Key Acoustic Guitar with Cricket

I left the window open so the last of the summer nature sounds could be captured. That and I was too lazy to get up and shut the window. Hey, that's art! This is like background stuff, so no genius brand composition here.
Ha! (Like I ever)

Banjo Rolls on a Guitar???

Well I didn't have a banjo handy, so I came up with this thang for the guitar. I guess it will have to do. It's got a train feel to it. 120 BPM.

Boy This One is a Mess!!

What do you get when you mix Disco, Rock, and Be-bop? Well, a Hot Mess of course. Still, it's not as bad as when you mix liquor and beer. Now THAT's a hot mess. Eeeewwwww. TMI!

Am I on a roll or what here? Hey, let's face it. I've been slacking. Time to cover some ground. Remember, If you want some special music, now would be the time to ask, because, I'm on a roll. Or did I say that already?

Merry Christmas early!

Heavy Grunge Rock

I'm learning how to get that BIG sound. At least that's what I'm trying to do. Heavier piece that's actually pretty long. 3:21.

Smells Like Grunge

Saturday, March 12, 2011

What another new one? Yup.

Here's a little something from the pop-metal genre. I've been experimenting with trying to get this sound. It's amazing how difficult it is to make EVERYTHING loud, but still keep everything separated. It's the audio equivalent of looking into a kiln as it's firing pottery- it's hard to make anything out because everything is glowing hot. Anyway here's a track simply titled:

Hey Finally Something New

Here's a new piece I just put together. It's funk pop similar to Maroon 5, Jason Mraz, Jamiraqui.

Macaroon 5

It's 3:26 in length. Enjoy!
